Currently, she is a junior majoring in journalism at the University of Texas at Austin.
She is serving as a Life&Arts Desk Editor at the Daily Texan in the fall.
At PEOPLE, she compiled pitches for digital stories every morning and was responsible for fact-checking the magazine’s front of book sections. She worked closely with the Human Interest vertical and produced over 25 stories during her time there. Notable features include a man who crawled for 11 hours to safety after a UTV accident, a man who was diagnosed with osteoporosis at 20 who then went on to break a knuckle pushup world record, and a Hurricane Katrina Superdome survivor. She worked closely with editors who provided feedback to strengthen reporting and writing skills.
In the spring of 2025, she wrote for the Austin Chronicle where she collaborated closely with editors to tell stories regarding music, culture and news affecting the Austin community. She conducted interviews and produced stories weekly on strict deadlines.
At the Daily Texan, she has served as both a General and Senior Life & Arts reporter. As a Senior Life & Arts reporter, she contributed two digital stories weekly. The role has offered her many opportunities, such as covering panels and showcases at SXSW.
Through her experiences, she has found that she enjoys all forms of reporting whether it be hard news or entertainment reviews. She hopes to continue contributing to publications that amplify human interest stories and spark genuine change in the world.
She is always looking to grow, learn and collaborate in the industry. Feel free to email angelinaliuu@gmail.com for any and all inquiries.
